Percussion CMS Is A Favorite Among Government Agencies

It’s been a busy but fruitful month for Percussion—their web content management systems have been chosen to power sites for two government agencies: the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer.gov, and the General Service Administration’s (GSA) USA.gov (and it’s Spanish counterpart, GobiernoUSA.gov).

The first announcement for October was the NCI selection. As the US government’s chief agency for cancer research, they use web presence to aggregate content and provide access to resources for researchers, health professionals, patients and their families, and many others. In choosing Percussion, they cited the CMS’s ability to integrate web analytics and social networking, as well as their adaptive architecture. Working with Percussion, NCI aims to optimize the recruiting, news, and forum areas of their websites.

The GSA chose Percussion to power the Office of Citizen Services and Communications’ (OCSC) USA.gov site based on Percussion’s ability to provide information about what content exists across millions of government web pages, and combine and organize content to create value for visitors. The GSA also appreciated the CMS’s facility to seamlessly integrate into the cloud, which will allow them to increase capacity, flexibility, and the ability to respond to new initiatives.

While Percussion is the content management system of choice for many other government agencies, it is worth noting that both of the agencies mentioned here had extensive vetting processes. Seems Percussion provides the government’s CMS of choice.
